Do you actually feel better after gaining more height?

The answer is definitely yes. My confidence has really improved. I can now concentrate on my real goals in life and concentrate on my daily activities because now there are no more bugging insecurities. Before, I always had to think about how to look taller. I really hated the fact that I must wear lifts inside my shoes - this made me feel both good and insecure. I felt good that I look taller but much more insecure because it's all a lie. It's true what they say, the truth will always come out.......Limb lengthening has liberated me from all of the pretenses I had to do. So I know, deep in my mind and heart, that it's all worth it despite all the uncertainties and risk I had to undergo.

I really wish good luck to those of you who are planning on doing this. I realized from this ordeal that our will or spirit is much stronger than our physical body. There was a point in my recovery where I had to travel back and forth for follow-up doctor visits across the country and my body just wanted to give up. I was just so tired physically but for some reason I was able to make it. It seemed and felt like I, my spirit, is just dragging my body to where I wanna be. It's an amazing time to know about myself and who I am.

When did I actually thought of having limb lengthening?

When I was 14, I already had started thinking of ways on how to become taller. My older brother was 6'2" when he was 14. I was only 5'6". I can vividly remember my frustrations.

However, I had not really thought of having limb lengthening until I had $10,000 in my bank. Money really makes you think differently. I had limb lengthening in 2005 and I had never thought of actually having it 6 months before that. I'd heard and read about it years before 2005 but had not thought about having it. I guess because I thought that there was no way to get it without money.

But suddenly I landed a good job. Even when I had that job, having limb lengthening never crossed my mind. A year after landing that job, I've accumulated around $10,000in my bank and so I thought how should I use this money.

At that point in my life, the only thing I want in my life is to become taller. So it seems like having money and the desire to grow taller coincided at that moment. I didn't even think about the pain of the surgery. I didn't think about how am I gonna tell my family, friends and boss. It just happened.

Looking back, money really makes things possible. In principle, people say money is the root of all evil, but for me - money saved my life.

When is the Hardest Time for Being Short?

From my experience, this is how I rank the hardest times for being short:

5. In the church or any place of worship. When everyone stands, then you notice how short you are.

4. In school. When you start to get out of class and everyone seem to be taller than you are.

3. Watching sports. When you see how tall the athletes are and when you also like the sport. Then you ask yourself, why aren't you tall so that you could be as popular as your idol.

2. In the mall. When you buy clothes, sometimes you wish you have longer legs to fit in those nicer clothes and look better.

1. In the bar/club. When you seem not cool enough because you're short.

Are You Depressed Because Your Short?

I can certainly relate to this feeling. Sometimes you just want to fit in with your friends. Sometimes, you feel you're less than your taller friends. Why do you feel like this, it is because the general public perception is taller is more beautiful? Or is it a problem that you have from within? Or it's the combination of the two?

Before I had my limb lengthening, using llizarov method, I was 5ft 7in. I gained 3.5 inches with the limb lengthening. I used to be very sad and not confident about myself when I was short. I can't concentrate or focus on what I wanna do. When I had exam, I was always thinking of clothes that would make me taller. It was really bad.

I was a problem that I cannot ultimately ignore, so when I started to earn money - I found out about limb lengthening. At first I was hesitant because it cost a lot and the recovery period if around 6 to 9 months. So for the time being, I settled with shoe lifts.

When I finally have the money and able to leave work for almost a year, with no doubt, I had the llizaroz limb lengthening procedure. It was hard work, lonely, hard and painful. I did it outside US and nobody knows about. I thought I was crazy but despite of that I know what I wanted in life. I know what would make me feel happy.

So now, I'm taller than average American. It's a nice feeling. If you have questions about my experience please visit http://www.howtobetaller.com Thank you.

How to Become Taller?????? Here's a Good Article

Looking tall is everyone’s dream as it increases your attractiveness. Hence people resort to various techniques to increase their height. But there are like high-intensity anaerobic exercises like growing taller stretches, swimming, and cycling that have been accepted by the medical researchers to increase your height. And a few more ways to improve your height naturally are:

Stretching Exercises:
While doing resistance training stretches, you should aim to increase the secretion of human growth hormone. Human growth hormone is responsible for thickening the cartilage, making the bones denser and increasing your height. These exercises will help you improve your posture. You can, at any age, add an inch or two of height by simply improving your posture. The way to do this is to exercise intensely for at least 10 minutes to increase your chances of becoming taller. There is no other way or technique that can lead to becoming taller except some stretching exercises.

Eat balanced diet:
If you are still within the growing age then perhaps you can add a few inches by eating a balanced diet and leading an active life. A nutritious diet that includes fruits and proper diet including vegetables, dairy, cereals, meat, and plenty of water will aid the natural process for enhancing height. Eat well but only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%.

Have Proper sleep:
A good and proper night’s sleep is also essential for the growth process. Your body feels relaxed after proper sleep and it will help you to improve your height to an extent. There is not much we can do to grow taller after puberty. But we can surely try these few natural techniques.
Dress up that gives u a tall look:
if you are not tall you can create a “Taller” effect by following some smart fashion techniques. You can easily add another inch or two of “illusionary height” by improving your dress coordination.

Diet for bones:
Calcium in real foods such as dairy products is useful for aging bones too. We should eat better to help keep bones strong. And this can be obtained from dairy products, yogurt and cheese. Protein from meats and eggs are essential for the marrow or the red portion of bones as well. It helps you to increase height.
There are many products in the market today that claim to increase height of adults, but they are all cheaters without sufficient scientific evidence. Surgical options, available in the market today

How to Increase Height?

The height depends on the average height of both parents, diet exercise and general health during spurting years.

Height variations explained:

Height is phenotypic, determined by genetics, and environment (Nutrition and stressors).

At large, the height within various population groups depends on societal growth in terms of available health care, education about nutrition, and availability of foods. This explains, why the average height in developed nations is higher than other nations.

Genetic Height
Will my baby grow up to be tall or short?

Within a given population group, the height variation is primarily genetic. As a rule, the height is determined by the height of parents. The accuracy of these formulas is based on the assumption that father is 5" taller than the mother

First we determine the Mean height of parents

Mean height of parents = ((Height of father in inches) + (Height of Mother in inches)) divided by 2

Median Genetic Height of Boy = Mean height of parents + 2.5"

Maximum Genetic Height of Boy = Mean height of parents + 4.5"

Minimum Genetic Height of Boy = Mean height of parents + 0.5"

Median Genetic Height of Girl = Mean height of parents -2.5"

Maximum Genetic Height of Girl = Mean height of parents + 0.5"

Minimum Genetic Height of Boy = Mean height of parents - 4.5"

Height Growth periods
The height increases from birth to the end of puberty. However, there are three succinct spurts: infancy, between the age of six and eight, and adolescence. A proper diet and health care during these spurts can have dramatic effect on the height.

Before puberty, the growth plates (the ends of long bones namely arms and legs) are soft and the length can be increased. During puberty, the growth plates (Epiphysis) begin to solidify. Once they are solid (Epiphysis is fused), the growth stops.
Girls
The fastest growth period starts at about age 11½ and ends near age 18.
Boys
The fastest growth period starts at about age 13½ and ends near age 20

Why boys grow up to be taller than girls?
Boys keep growing from infancy to 20 years of age. Girls keep growing from infancy to 18 years of age. This gives boys an advantage of added two years to grow taller. Also, the Testosterones help the bones to grow longer.

How to increase height
Human Growth Hormones
In 2003, the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approved the use of Human Growth Hormones for children with low growth hormones. This treatment is only good before growth plates (Epiphysis) are fused.

Leg Lengthening surgery
After the growth plates are fused, the only option available is Leg Lengthening surgery.

Diet Exercise Lifestyle Consideration
How to increase height by diet and exercise? | Does weight-lifting stunt growth? No

The diet exercise and lifestyle can dramatically influence height during spurts before growth plates are fused. The diet must be balanced with all six food groups (grains, fruits, vegetables, meat/beans, good-fats). It must be rich in Calcium, Good quality proteins. There must be sufficient Vitamin D to help absorb Calcium in making bones

Engage in Vertical-Extension exercises. Examples are basketball, Volleyball, Swimming.

Avoid use of tobacco products (smoking, chewing tobacco).
Avoid confined environment (stale air)
Avoid stress

I Went to the Club After Having Limb Lengthening

It was a great feeling!!!!

After having gained 3.5 inches from llizarov limb lengthening, I went to the club to mingle with people. It was a great feeling. Not only because I was not able to go out for about 6 months for the recovery, but also I really feel the difference. I am now 5ft 11in and I'm above male average. I can truly feel the difference - and it's a good feeling.

All the risks, sacrifices, pain, and money that I put in ARE WORTH IT.

If you ask me, I really recommend to have the limb lengthening procedure - that's if you really want it. Don't do it just to be beautiful because I think I did it because I had emotional and psychological problems. The whole procedure takes a lot of your time and you're basically giving aways 1 year of your life. But if you are crazy enough, like I was, then why not do it.

There are some risks in doing this procedure so I recommend to asks a lot of questions and do your research. After your done, I promise you'll feel what I'm feeling right now - confidence and happiness.

We All Have a Deficiencies, So Don't Feel Bad for Being Short

To all short guys or girls out there, I know what you feel when you feel like you're not tall enough. I really hope that you would concentrate more on what you have that god has given you. Think about your intelligence, your talents (maybe in music or sports). Being tall is perceived as cool, but in the end what is good is how you use yourself in this world, how you make other people happy.

As I said in my prvious posts, I used to be 5 ft 7.5 in and now I'm 5'11" and I can feel the difference in how people see me. But it seems like I want more height. I am beginning to realize that I should refocus my thinking about life.

I know you might think I'm just BSing, because what do I care I'm alread virtually 6 foot guy, but believe me if you can't affort limb lengthening for now, just think about positive things you have. If you're a lady who is a little shorter than the average, there are a lot of tall guys who are attracted to shorted and petite girls, so don't think you're nothing when compared to the super model tall girls.

In the end, what matters is how you interact with other people because this is the only way how other people appreciate you. It doesn't matter is you're a tall person but you're a selfish and rude person, who would like you?

What Do You Do If You're Feeling Depressed Because You're Short

Before I had the limb lengthening surgery, I often hoped to become taller. I used to be 5'7 1/2" and now I'm 5'11". I know that my previous height was still good when compared to other guys who are 5'4" or 5'6".

But you know it's all relative. It is all about perception of life. Sure, some people make fun of you being short but that's it. Other than that you're a good guy or girl. Honestly, now that I'm 5'11", sometimes I still wear a 1-inch shoe lift, don't you think this is crazy. I often remind myself that I should be lucky that I'm already this height. I also know some of the people who had limb lengthening surgery still wanna grow taller even they already have gained 3 inches.

Just think about greed. We already have all we have in life to survive but we still want more. We don't focus on the good things we already have. Regarding love life, it's true that I have become more attractive because now that I am taller. However the person you will really like (in the end) is the person that matches your personality, dreams and goals in life.

So hang in there. If you'd like to undergo limb lengthening later in life, that is up to you. I don't think there is something wrong with it. If it would make you a happier person, then why not. I think that I become a better part of the society because I can appreciate other people now simply because I can appreciate myself.

If you have question regarding the risk of the surgery, you can ask me by cliking on the menu link "Ask Question". I charge $1 for 2 questions. This will help me with my medical bills.

Tall Men Do Better in the Dating Scene

The preference for taller men extends, it seems, beyond the boardroom and into the bedroom.

Steve Penner, the previous owner of a Boston-based dating service, says he heard it all the time. "It is common for many women to insist that any man they date must be "at least" four to six inches taller," he says.

And the reason may be genetic.

Tall men are more likely to get married and have children than short men.

Experts like James Gould from Princeton University believe that women's preference for tall men is hard-wired into the brain, and it's there because it relates to good health.

"When height is an indicator of health, this is not surprising, and if females are programmed to look for health, they would end up with taller males," Gould says. "It's entirely plausible this is true."

And a study published in the journal Nature seems to back up this theory. Robin I. M. Dunbar of the University of Liverpool and colleagues studied 3,200 men in their 20s to 50s, whose average height was 5'6." They found:

- Taller men are more likely to be married and have children than shorter men

- Childless bachelors are significantly shorter than married men

- Those with children were, on average, 1.2 inches taller than childless men

- Married men were an average of 1 inch taller than bachelors

Is Wearing Shoe Lifts Really Good for You?

This question sounds like a really easy question, but shoe lifts' affects on you is more that its superficial short-term effect on you - and that is being taller. Ask yourself, does these lifts really make me happy or do they make me more insecure and more dependent on them?

Looking back in the past, when I was shorter and before I had limb lenghthening surgery, wearing lifts was a neccesity. So if you wear them, more power to you. But I hope that you understand that this is not you. You are tyring to show people about yourself that is not you. I realized this after wearing lifts for about 7 years and also after I had limb lengthening surgery.

I realized that if I was lookng for long-term relationship, you need to show who you really are. If the person likes for who you are, and not because you're tall due to the shoe lifts, then you're very lucky. See, it's not really about what others think about you. It's how you think about yourself.

Wear lifts but make sure that you understand that this is not you. OK. cheers.

Do You Feel Better Now After You Had Your Limb Lengthened?

YES!!!!! Although the procedure was very challenging and evasive, the result is worth having the sacrifices. I feel very confident about myself. I feel more focus on what I really wanna do in my life, my career, my social life.

It's amazing how you are treated differently when you're taller. Before I was only around 7 1/2 feet tal. Now I'm 11 feet. I've gained 3 1/2 inches and I'm technically taller than average in America. It's weird how your friends follow you instead of you following them. I noticed that taller people are often seen as the leader and I've experienced this. For example, if we're in a club or bar, I end up leading the way for them. But before, I always follow. So it somehow affects what is expected of you. You are expected to be more active, not passive.

Nevertheless, I feel like I've been given more credibility in my career, social life, and even when I go in the market. People temd to look up to me, I mean not literally. It's a good feeling, something that you have to get used to.

Are Shoe Lifts Bad for Your Back

When I was younger back in college, I used to roll socks and stick them in my shoes to gain around 1 1/2 inches in height. It was actually good because the socks mold according to your feet's shape and position so it becomes very comfortable. However, it is not very discreet when you take it your shoes off.

When I was taking my masters, I started to look at shoes from Internet to make me taller so I bought a pair of shoes and I was given the option about the thickness of the shoe lifts. At first, I thought I had to buy shoes in order to get the lifts, but I discovered this wasn't the case. So I started ordering just the lifts and used them for my other shoes.

The lifts were perfect when I used them with my other shoes but the only problem is that my shoes became so tight. So I started buying shoes 1/2 inch bigger than my actual shoe size. This solved the problem.

I also discovered that I can stack a shoe lift on top of another so if I buy two 1-inch lifts, I can stack them together and gain additional 2 inches in height. I usually buy the black ones because they are not as obvious.

I did not really feel any bad side effect when I wore the shoe lifts. My back or knees were perfectly fine. Of course however, I had problem with running or walking long distances. Basically, I had no problems with them in indoor activities, such as bars, clubs, church, school, office, etc.

Other problems with shoe lifts are psychological and emotional. Once you get used to your height with the lifts on, it's going to be hard for you to get rid of them not only because your used to them, but also because people around you are used to your height. So it would look funny to them if all of a sudden you become shorter. So lifts have their pros and cons.

Use them wisely.

What Did I Used to Feel When I Was Short?

Before I took the limb lengthening procedure, I was 5' 71/2". It may be tall for some already, but for me - I felt I was really short. I was not very confident about myself. I used to insert folded socks in my shoes to gain 1 1/2 to 2 inches back in college. So I had to wear shoes 1 inch bigger than my size. After the socks, I discovered about lifts. I used to buy two 1-inch lifts and stacked them on top of each other in my shoes to gain additional two inches in height. It helped a lot, but I think it grew to become a disease because I had to have the lifts when I go out because I thought that people may wonder how I become shorter. I really got tired of it and I discovered about limb lengthening and how it's done. I saved money and I did it. Now I'm 5'11".

I cannot believe the result.
