Is it worth it to have limb lengthening?
Is it worth is to have limb lengthening? The answer is it all depends to how bad you want it. Some get crazy for being short. They do all things possible and availabe to be taller or to at least look taller. However, some are comfortable to be shorter. They may entertain limb lengthening but they don't think about it as much.
Let's talk about the desperate ones, at the edge of getting crazy. There is nothing wrong with this because I was like this before I had my surgery. I felt inferior. I felt not as important. I felt I didn't belong to my body. I've always thought that I'd be a better person being taller. I knew I had the determination to do the surgery no matter what so I did it. If this is what you feel, you may consider it. What do you have to lose??? This is a big question. A surgery mishap maybe? However, you can counter this by doing a good research and good preparation.
From my experience, it was a balance of budget and the doctor. Some doctors are very experienced so they charge more. This is not the only factor however. Some countries just charge a lot more than those from developing countries.
I suggest that you contact each of the available doctors that you can find. Ask their fees, living cost for staying in their location, their experience, how many surgeries have they had and the likes......For each of these criteria, mark 1 for bad up to 10 for the best. For example, if you think the doctor does not have the experience, mark this criteria 5 as oppose to 10. Do this with the rest of the criteria. Add all of them up to get a total. Compare this total to other doctors' totals. This will be very helpful in your decision making.

How Tall Do You Have to Be to Become Fashion Model?
For high fashion modeling there are size and "look" requirements. Model size seems to be the burning question for many. In checking around I have found no two sources agree on size for fashion models (some agencies have height, weight and size charts they strictly go by and others just a general look) and I am constantly finding exception. Different fashion designer and modeling agencies have varying standard that can change a few inches here and there depending on the "look" for that season (one year they are draping cloths over scare crow thin models, the next they are form fitting over voluptuous models). In general, mainstream female high fashion models are tall, thin, young and beautiful. How tall? Mainstream range - 5'9" to 5'11" with outer fringe being 5'8" to 6" with the extremely rare exception down to 5'5" and as tall as 6'1". Thin - puts weight at 108 to 130lbs in proportional to height. This puts dress size 6-8 with the desired figure around 34B-24-34. This can range some but waist no larger the 25" and maximum hips 35 ½." Beginning models start modeling in the age range of 13-19 and if you have not made it by twenty it is over.
For men, they usually start at 5'11" but usually not taller than 6'1". Weight is around 160 to 180lbs depending on the the fashion designer, the look they're looking for, and the fad.

After a Year from Limb Lengthening, I'm Back to Running
It is very amazing how I feel. I had my lengthening in May 2008 and now I'm back in the threadmill running. I think it's all worth it, the cost of the surgery, the time to heal, some of the pain, and the loneliness (not telling anyone else what you did).
I used to be 5'7 1/2" and now I'm 5'11" and I thought I was crazy. I think I am not. I think I have overcame all the challenges, fear, and hopelessness. I cannot explain the confidence I have now. I still consciouly stop myself from being too confident because some people might think I'm just too conceited.

Ride Your Bike for Some Long Distance Trip to Stimulate Your Growth



A few years ago it was found that the Dutch people were much larger than the Germans, although their diet and general activities were very similar. Make sure, however, not to develop a stiff, rigid posture, the right obstruct breathing. Be sure that the correct posture in a relaxed and comfortable way.

When is the Hardest Time for Being Short?
From my experience, this is how I rank the hardest times for being short:
5. In the church or any place of worship. When everyone stands, then you notice how short you are.
4. In school. When you start to get out of class and everyone seem to be taller than you are.
3. Watching sports. When you see how tall the athletes are and when you also like the sport. Then you ask yourself, why aren't you tall so that you could be as popular as your idol.
2. In the mall. When you buy clothes, sometimes you wish you have longer legs to fit in those nicer clothes and look better.
1. In the bar/club. When you seem not cool enough because you're short.

Are You Depressed Because Your Short?
I can certainly relate to this feeling. Sometimes you just want to fit in with your friends. Sometimes, you feel you're less than your taller friends. Why do you feel like this, it is because the general public perception is taller is more beautiful? Or is it a problem that you have from within? Or it's the combination of the two?
Before I had my limb lengthening, using llizarov method, I was 5ft 7in. I gained 3.5 inches with the limb lengthening. I used to be very sad and not confident about myself when I was short. I can't concentrate or focus on what I wanna do. When I had exam, I was always thinking of clothes that would make me taller. It was really bad.
I was a problem that I cannot ultimately ignore, so when I started to earn money - I found out about limb lengthening. At first I was hesitant because it cost a lot and the recovery period if around 6 to 9 months. So for the time being, I settled with shoe lifts.
When I finally have the money and able to leave work for almost a year, with no doubt, I had the llizaroz limb lengthening procedure. It was hard work, lonely, hard and painful. I did it outside US and nobody knows about. I thought I was crazy but despite of that I know what I wanted in life. I know what would make me feel happy.

Are the Requirements to Become Fashion Model Discriminatory?
Everyone knows that, even you're beautiful, you can still be barred from being a fashion model just because you're short. Female requirement is at least 5ft 7in and for male is at least 5ft 11in.
Is this a form of discrimination?
Maybe yes. Maybe no. We can't blame the designers cuz clothes look better when worn by tall people. That's how poeple think of it and this is what designers are giving. I guess it's a cycle.

I Went to the Club After Having Limb Lengthening
It was a great feeling!!!!
After having gained 3.5 inches from llizarov limb lengthening, I went to the club to mingle with people. It was a great feeling. Not only because I was not able to go out for about 6 months for the recovery, but also I really feel the difference. I am now 5ft 11in and I'm above male average. I can truly feel the difference - and it's a good feeling.
All the risks, sacrifices, pain, and money that I put in ARE WORTH IT.
If you ask me, I really recommend to have the limb lengthening procedure - that's if you really want it. Don't do it just to be beautiful because I think I did it because I had emotional and psychological problems. The whole procedure takes a lot of your time and you're basically giving aways 1 year of your life. But if you are crazy enough, like I was, then why not do it.
There are some risks in doing this procedure so I recommend to asks a lot of questions and do your research. After your done, I promise you'll feel what I'm feeling right now - confidence and happiness.

What Do You Do If You're Feeling Depressed Because You're Short
Before I had the limb lengthening surgery, I often hoped to become taller. I used to be 5'7 1/2" and now I'm 5'11". I know that my previous height was still good when compared to other guys who are 5'4" or 5'6".
But you know it's all relative. It is all about perception of life. Sure, some people make fun of you being short but that's it. Other than that you're a good guy or girl. Honestly, now that I'm 5'11", sometimes I still wear a 1-inch shoe lift, don't you think this is crazy. I often remind myself that I should be lucky that I'm already this height. I also know some of the people who had limb lengthening surgery still wanna grow taller even they already have gained 3 inches.
Just think about greed. We already have all we have in life to survive but we still want more. We don't focus on the good things we already have. Regarding love life, it's true that I have become more attractive because now that I am taller. However the person you will really like (in the end) is the person that matches your personality, dreams and goals in life.
So hang in there. If you'd like to undergo limb lengthening later in life, that is up to you. I don't think there is something wrong with it. If it would make you a happier person, then why not. I think that I become a better part of the society because I can appreciate other people now simply because I can appreciate myself.

Tall Men and Money
For "Blink," Gladwell polled about half of the Fortune 500 companies and found that the majority of their CEOs were tall, white men, and:
- The average CEO was just under 6 feet (the average American man is 5'9")
- Among the CEOs, 58 percent were 6 feet or over
- In the United States, 14.5 percent of men are 6 feet or over
- Some 30 percent of the CEOs were 6'2" or taller
- Only 3.9 percent of U.S. men are 6'2" or taller
"Height matters for career success," said Timothy Judge, a University of Florida management professor who co-conducted a study on the topic.
After analyzing the results of four large-scale studies, Judge and co-author Daniel Cable, a business professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill, found that extra inches could add up to thousands of dollars.
For each inch in height, a person earned about $789 more in pay. So a 6-foot person would earn $5,525 more each year than someone who is 5'5."
"If you take this over the course of a 30-year career and compound it, we're talking about literally hundreds of thousands of dollars of earnings advantage that a tall person enjoys," Judge said.

Tall Men Do Better in the Dating Scene
The preference for taller men extends, it seems, beyond the boardroom and into the bedroom.
Steve Penner, the previous owner of a Boston-based dating service, says he heard it all the time. "It is common for many women to insist that any man they date must be "at least" four to six inches taller," he says.
And the reason may be genetic.
Tall men are more likely to get married and have children than short men.
Experts like James Gould from Princeton University believe that women's preference for tall men is hard-wired into the brain, and it's there because it relates to good health.
"When height is an indicator of health, this is not surprising, and if females are programmed to look for health, they would end up with taller males," Gould says. "It's entirely plausible this is true."
And a study published in the journal Nature seems to back up this theory. Robin I. M. Dunbar of the University of Liverpool and colleagues studied 3,200 men in their 20s to 50s, whose average height was 5'6." They found:
- Taller men are more likely to be married and have children than shorter men
- Childless bachelors are significantly shorter than married men
- Those with children were, on average, 1.2 inches taller than childless men
- Married men were an average of 1 inch taller than bachelors
